Biotech Showcase™ 2013 Speaker Guidelines

Presentation timing

• Private companies:
• All private company presentation slots are strictly limited to 14 minutes, which includes the introduction of your company and your getting to and from the podium. Therefore presenters should plan on speaking for 14 minutes. Q&A is not encouraged.
• We recommend that presenters consider limiting their slide decks to 14 slides, or one per minute.
• There will be a designated area outside the presentation room for post-presentation questions.

• Public companies:
• All public company presentation slots are strictly limited to 30 minutes, which includes the introduction of your company and your getting to and from the podium.
  Therefore presenters should plan on speaking for 25 minutes. Q&A is not encouraged.
• We recommend that presenters consider limiting their slide decks to 25 slides, or one per minute
• All public company presenters will have a designated breakout room for post-presentation questions.

Presentation format

• Presenters are asked to prepare and submit their presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint. If your presentation was prepared on an Apple Mac please review it with the audiovisual (AV) team on site before your scheduled presentation time.
• Presentations must be uploaded to the Biotech Showcase™ 2013 presentation server by . Each presenting company will receive an email with a secure link to upload their presentation to our server.  Please note that you will be able to upload a modified presentation at any time. If you do not receive this email, please send an email to Alex Radetsky at aradetsky@demy-colton.com.
• Please bring a copy of your presentation on a flash drive.
• Presentation files must be named as follows (do not use Biotech Showcase in name):
  • Company_day_room_time
  • AcmeBiotech_Tues_RoomXX_1120
• Presentations not submitted by , MUST be brought to the speaker ready room at least five hours before your presentation.  (If you present in the morning, your presentation must be submitted the day before.)
• Presenters must use the conference AV systems, and should not plan to connect their own laptops at the podium.

Presenter check-in

• All presenters are asked to go to the speaker ready room to check in with our staff.
• All presenters are reminded to bring a backup copy of your presentation with you to the conference.

Speaker ready room

• Located on the fourth floor of the Parc 55 Wyndham San Francisco – Union Square in the Lombard Room.
• Hours of operation:
  • January 7, 7:00 am–5:00 pm
  • January 8, 7:00 am–5:00 pm
  • January 9, 7:00 am–5:00 pm

Presentation rooms

Each presentation room will be staffed by a dedicated AV technician.

• Each room will have a monitor in front of the podium so the presenter can see his/her presentation.
• Each room will be equipped with a timer to assist the presenter and moderator. 
• The podium will be equipped with a microphone.
• Each presenter will be introduced by a moderator.

Please arrive in your presentation room 14 minutes before your presentation and introduce yourself to the moderator so he/she knows you are in the room and ready to present.

Videotaping of CEO interviews

Executive Video, a leading financial production firm and sponsor of the Biotech Showcase 2012, will have a studio setup at the conference and will be filming interviews with presenting company CEOs. Each interview will be condensed by Executive Video into a compelling video product that will introduce your Company to investors and inform them of important catalysts in 2012. Upon completion, each video will be individually distributed by Thompson Reuters, StockTwits.com, InvestorsHub.com, and BioMedReports.com. Companies may also place the video on their website and social media channels. • All kits should be one unit and self-contained for easy handling. (The organizers reserve the right to dispose of any materials that are not contained in one unit or which are difficult to handle.)
