About the Conference
ChinaBio® LLC and EBD Group will host their second ChinaBio® Partnering Forum in Suzhou, China to meet the needs of biotech and pharma companies as well as developers of early stage technology seeking funding or strategic partnerships. The 2009 event brought together 486 attendees from over 270 companies and 29 countries for two days of intense partnering. Participants included most major pharmas as well as many of China’s biopharmaceutical companies and CROs/CMOs.
Partnering has become a significant component of China’s burgeoning biopharma industry. The number of partnering deals grew by 41% in 2009, with co-development deals the fastest growing segment. This has been driven by China’s robust pipeline of over 2,000 novel molecules with nearly 200 in clinical development.
There are also over 300 CROs in China offering high quality services supporting drug discovery and development projects of major pharma and biotech companies worldwide. Many of these are willing to work on a risk sharing or collaborative basis with their sponsors.
