The eighth annual BIO-Europe Spring® conference will be held March 10–12, 2014 in Turin, Italy at the OVAL Lingotto conference center. The event is recognized by life science insiders as the place for established biotech and early-stage companies to meet and form partnerships with venture capitalists and business development executives from big pharma companies.
Investor and pharma partners provide life science companies with benefits that go beyond financial investment to include business experience and advice on issues ranging from regulatory and approval benchmarks to marketing and patient advocacy that enable them to transform their early stage discovery into marketable therapies and cures.
“We are very excited to bring BIO-Europe Spring to Turin in 2014,” said Florian Schoenhammer, Group Managing Director, EBD Group. “The Piemonte region has a thriving life science community that benefits from a well-supported infrastructure for research and drug discovery. And Italy has applied the same passion and innovation to their biotech sector that has historically made them a leader in the automotive, financial, culinary and fashion industries.”
The Turin and Piemonte region is an ideal location for BIO-Europe Spring as it is the location of 360 life science companies with 7,000 employees. It is also home to four universities, four incubators, six science and technology parks, 220 R&D centers, and 380 labs comprising 23,300 researchers.
“I would personally like to thank EBD Group for bringing BIO-Europe Spring 2014 to our city, giving Torino high media visibility. During BIO-Europe Spring in Barcelona in March, and BIO-Europe in Vienna in November, we had many visitors to our booth who showed interest in our region, including foreign companies, research centers and entrepreneurial associations from countries with whom we have not previously been in contact,” said Alessandro Barberis, President of the Torino Chamber of Commerce.
